Nisan ZEOD RC stretches its legs for the first time

Fri, 25 Oct 2013 17:00:00 EST

Ever go out nonpareil of those videos where a baby deer is born and immediately starts walking? Fortunate, this isn't one of those. For starters, the Nissan ZEOD RC isn't exactly a newborn. Nisan took the design of the DeltaWing, gave IT a hybrid engine and called it something new. And information technology hardly started galloping straight out the box, either: this was just a low-spirited-speed demonstration run, held at Fuji Speedway where it debuted this past weekend.
Still, seeing the machine that's destined to take the first lap of Le Mans under electric world power alone in reality start aweigh and run is something of a turning point in the development of electric racing cars - even if this is, despite Nissan's best efforts to avoid the term, a hybrid, non a pure EV. The name stands for Zero Emissions On Involve, not zip emissions altogether the clip. On the other hand ZEATT wouldn't clear for a very good distinguish anyway, would it? See for yourself in the telecasting below.

Nissan reveals radical BladeGlider concept for Tokyo introduction

Fri, 08 Nov 2013 09:15:00 EST

Radical reinvention of the automobile doesn't happen very often. There's a reason they refer to it as "reinventing the wheel", after all. But that's what a team of racecar designers did with the original DeltaWing concept in 2010. Primitively proposed Eastern Samoa an IndyCar racer, the project was after redesigned for Le Mans. That's when Nissan got on board, backed the throw for a some races, and then took the design in its own direction with the ZEOD RC. And now information technology's taking IT to the road... via the auto show.
What we have here is the BladeGlider concept, a proposition for a delta-shaped galvanic sportscar which Nisan volition nowadays at the Tokyo Motor Testify in a couple of weeks. Designed to focus on driving pleasure, the BladeGlider is some as extremist as they come. Like the DeltaWing and ZEOD RC, it's got a narrow front track and wide rear to minimize drag and optimize constancy, wadding a 1+2 seating arrangement to put the driver front and center alike in a McLaren F1, with upward-swinging doors and underbelly aerodynamics to keep in information technology glued to the road. In-wheel motors (of unspecified production) furnish the power, a lightweight lithium-ion battery (let alone the carbon copy-fiber bodywork) keeps it all fearther-like, and weight distribution is heavily biased towards the rear at 30:70.
A radical concept, to make up trusty, but here's the kicker: Nissan wants to build it. As you can see from the press release below, the BladeGlider "is both a proposal for the future instruction of Nissan physical phenomenon vehicle (EV) exploitation and an exploratory prototype for an upcoming production vehicle". While it would undoubtedly take about time to develop, much less evidence for itinerant, seeing one of these - operating room even amend, driving one - happening our favourite stretches of tarmac strikes us as a prospect worth wait for.

Are you the 2015 Nisan Versa facelift?

Fri, 26 Jul 2013 14:14:00 EST

The current-generation Nissan Sunny - the over the sea equivalent to the Versa sedan - has been around since 2010, and now it appears that Nisan has some small changes in store for it. Supported these half-size, dark and grainy photos from Island place, Machine Sohu, the Sunny could comprise set to receive a slight styling refresh.
From what we hindquarters tell, the biggest change will be to the headlights with the Shiny acquiring boomerang-style units similar those on current Nissan sedans in the US. We wouldn't make up surprised to see these changes to carry ended to our Versa sedan soon. Grille and fascia changes also seem to be in the industrial plant, but it's hard to make out any other changes from these images incomparable.
